Any of you Ladies out therE?

Hi! this looks like it might be a small board... but maybe some of you check it out!
I just got married on 10/27 and DH got a job in Mass. So i think we will be moving to plymouth, mass. or some other local towns...anyone have any ideas what other towns we should look for houses in?
thanks!

Re: Any of you Ladies out therE?

  • Hey! My husband and I bought a condo in Plymouth in 2005.  We are now looking to sell and buy a house. We are both originally from Weymouth, moved to plymouth because his family did and the condos's were cheaper then renting. I find something new to love about Plymouth everyday. During the summer time there is a lot of life downtown.People watching great food, gardens, beaches. Manomet is so far my favorite the houses are in a good price range and you are close to everything without getting stuck in the tourist trap. Plus White horse beach simply is the best beach hands down.. Other areas I may suggest depending on where you will be working is Rochester. The houses are budget friendly the marinas are awesome and there is a good sense of community. What are you looking for in terms of lifestyle? It may help limit the suggestions.
  • Also I noticed you are a L&D Rn. The Jordan has a nice facility as well as South Shore Hospital.
  • Hi! Thanks for the reply!
DH and I would love somewhere with a good community...we will probably start TTC in Summer 2008, so we want to be somewhere kid friendly. I would love to be near the beach, maybe in manomet like you said. MH will be working in the Nuclear Power Plant south of plymouth- so i am not sure how far that is from various places.

i am considering working in a hospital, but if i cant get normal days/less hours, i may work in a MD's office, because hospital hrs are getting to me!

thanks so much for your help! :)
  • Welcome to MA.  I live in Carver, which is right next to Plymouth.  We really love the area.  We are only 20-25 minutes from the beach and downtown Plymouth, and are a close distance to near-by highways.  I see that your husband will be working at the power plant.  Carver is only about 20 minutes from there.

Manomet is a nice area of Plymouth, my mom lives there and loves being so close to the beach.  Manomet would be convenient to the power plant.

Good luck with your search.  This board is pretty slow.  If you have questions you can post them on the boston board as well, there are a few ladies on that board from the plymouth area.
