Good Morning Ladies,
Thank you to everyone who submitted a recipe. We have 12 Recipes...Last year the cookbook had 350 recipes so we still have a ways to go and our deadline of Oct. 1 is coming up quick.
We would like to at least match the number of recipes received. For those of you who have submitted recipes if for some reason we do not publish volume 2 a pdf will be sent with all recipes submitted to everyone who contributed.
Volume 1 was such a success that we are hoping that there will be many more volumes to come.
If we want another edition for this year's holiday season we need your recipes.
Please submit your recipes. You can email your recipe to nestknotcookbook@gmail.com - please include your first name, your nest/knot name, your wedding date, where you live and a suggestion for a favorite charity.
For those of you who weren't around for volume one here's the history:
It all began with an "attempted" recipe swap on the Boston Nest Board. One person suggested posting your favorite recipe. Another person thought it would be a great idea to compile them in our own little cookbook. A third person thought it would be a great idea to sell them and raise money for charity. Before we knew it, the idea of a charity cookbook had spread beyond the Boston board to other local New England boards and everyone was more than excited about the idea. So now here we are with over 250 recipes collected from women in the six New England states and beyond.
Anyone who submitted a recipe was encouraged to also submit the names of local and national charities that we could share our profits with. Everyone voted and the winners were the American Cancer Society and the Northeast Animal Shelter. We sold just about 450 cookbooks and have raised a little over $2,500! That's $1,250 to each charity. We hope you enjoy our collection of recipes. Some have been passed down from great-grandmothers; some were invented by the very women who submitted them. It's quite a collection. From traditional standbys like New England Clam Chowder and Yankee Pot Roast, to gourmet dishes like Stuffed Pork Loin and Pumpkin White Chocolate Cheesecake. We're sure there is something in here for everyone's taste and everyone's cooking skill level.
Here is the website that was setup with information about the cookbook. The page hasn't been updated yet. There is a different group of ladies running it this time but the webpage will stay the same http://nestknotcookbook.googlepages.com
Thanks!
