hi all -- i've posted here a few times in the past since DH and i will be moving out to portland in the summer...
we are looking for a place to live...ideally we'd like to find a rental house, so we are pretty much just looking for houses right now. we have four pets, so it's been difficult finding places that allow them all...2 dogs, a cat, and a rabbit...i would really like to be up front about our pets if possible..
anyway, we've been looking at craigslist on and off, but it feels like the number of rental houses available has been going down...are there any other sites out there that are good for looking for rental housing?
we are really hoping to live in either SW or SE, close in...DH will be going to lewis and clark for law school and we are hoping he'll be able to walk to class..
ps - i'm a spartan and i just gotta throw this in... GO GREEN!!!
Re: where to search for rental housing?
We found our rental through www.rappoldpropertymanagement.com. They have been pretty accommodating with our 2 non-small dogs and we were able to negotiate a month-to-month non-lease for the next year w/ no price increase just in case we decide to buy (I highly doubt it).
I also looked into www.bestportlandrentals.com/index.html. Good luck with the housing deal. We have friends that moved here, stayed some place for a couple of months while they searched for a more "permanent" rental. I think it's probably a little easier finding a place when you're in the area.
Go BIG 10!

I will be going to law school with your husband. Is he doing the day or the evening program?
Portland Rental Company specializes in properties that allow pets, so you might try looking at their current listings.
Otherwise, I would look at places in Burlingame, Hillsdale, John's Landing, and Multnomah Village. There isn't a whole lot in the immediate area around L&C, but they do run a shuttle and there's a TriMet bus that goes there (the 39, I believe). Sellwood is also an easy commute, and is on that bus line.
Congrats to your Spartans for going so far, I was cheering for them.
The hair grows in thick where the horn used to be.

sorry this response is so late! i totally forgot to check back here...that's so awesome that you'll be going to school with my husband! i'm going to PM you and page you in a second...but that's so awesome that you'll be in law school with my husband! he makes fun of me for going on the nest, so i just said "you're not gonna believe it...someone on the nest will be going to law school with you!!" hahaha
our number one place we want to live right now is sellwood so that's our main search criteria...it's so hard to find houses right now that allow all of our pets though!! we still have a little bit of time!
