Recs for Flooring Company/Carpenter?
Hi there,
DH and I are sort of renovating our house in South City, and we are in need of a good carpenter/flooring company. We basically need new hardwood laid in one small dining room, but we are looking for someone with skills because the floor is not completely level!
We went with Clark Flooring in South County to refinish the floors throughout the rest of the house, and the results were ok. We were a little disappointed with the polyurethane coating (not shiny enough), and we had some problems with the workers. Also, our estimate increased substantially while we were gone at work, and after the workmen had started sanding.
Our dining room needs new hardwood laid because one of the previous owners laid tile over the wood, and now it is ruined with a black tarry residue.

We've used Murphy Carpet/Flooring in High Ridge/Fenton for the last couple jobs we've had. ?They're a smaller mom and pop shop and we absolutely love them. ?We recently bought our wood floors from them and did it ourselves, but my husband called them a few times for tips and recommendations. ?they were so helpful. ?you would have thought they would have said "you should of had us install it", but they were so helpful, even giving more than my dh asked, really helping him out. ?I'd recommend them to anyone and everyone and they'll be the first place we call for anything, flooring related. ?OH, and they were cheaper than anywhere else we looked, so that helps!
