In the poll you said that you and your DH recently became vegitarians.  May I ask why?

I have been thinking about doing this because of all the growth hormones, antibiotics and other crap they use.  DH will not even talk about this idea.

Re: *fivesgirl*

  • Exactly because of the reasons you listed. I read Skinny B*tch and then my husband did, We haven't had meat since I read it. It talks about how bad meat & animal products are for you, even if they didn't have the pesticides, added hormones and antibiotics, it still isn't good for you. It's a great book, it isn't at all about being skinny, just healthy (they wanted a catchy title).  We want to be as healthy as can be and this is a start.

We also don't want our future children to have all that extra stuff that they don't need, so starting now will be better for them so they don't get used to that kind of food and then we take it away from them.

has some great information. My husband was all for giving up meat to be healthier, he actually had an easier time with this than me (I am a very picky eater).

Good Luck and let me know if you have any other questions.

    Sarah
