Anyone like to decorate?

I *really* need help decorating my house.  I totally suck at it!  We've lived here almost a year and a half and still don't have curtains.  lol  Although, the past year and a half have been pretty crazy.  I'm seriously looking for someone to help me decorate my house.  Do you or know anyone that is a good decorator?

Re: Anyone like to decorate?

  • Decorating is fun!  Look at the stuff you have in a room and what will be staying in the room and then ask:  What colors or patterns are you working with?  What colors do you like?  For curtains, are you looking for just a window dressing or privacy/room darkening?  If your furniture is all sold, maybe pick some patterned pieces for pillows and curtains.  Do you sew?  Curtains may be cheaper to make than buy.....or you may find a material you like for curtains.

  • I loooove to decorate! When do you want me to come over?
  • I'm coming, too! I love designing other people's houses. Just don't look at mine :o)

  • Decorating is sooooo much fun...that's why I started taking interior design classes before I switched my major.
  • We finally found curtains last night that we like!!!  I am super excited about this!  I am going to buy 2 extra panels to make throw pillows out of.  Now that we have curtains picked out it will be easier to decorate the rest of the living room/dining room.  We are going with a sort of Tuscan/wine theme in the kitchen/dining room.  The hard part about our house is the kitchen, dining room and living room are all sort of 1 huge C shaped room.  Thank you for your advice.  Now I need to find some artwork, candles, some other pieces of furniture, plants, baskets and some other things to go with this 'theme' (if I can even call it that.)
  • Sounds like it's going to look really great.  Good luck, and have fun finding everything else to pull it together!
