We'd love to find a historic home or one with some character at least and can you tell me places to live that would have something like that. We are so excited to be moving to aplce where there are trees and no stucco!! Please tell me about this area!! Much appreciated!
Re: Moving to northern SC in 9 months!
Hi! I lived in York, SC (which is the city directly to the west of RH) for the first 23 years of my life. I have now lived in Union, SC for almost a year. I miss the York/Rock Hill area sooo much. You can check realtor.com for homes in the area. Rock Hill/Fort Mill are both beautiful places and both are growing rapidly... York is a little slower, if you're looking for the "small town" feel. RH has a mall and a few nice shopping centers, but the great thing is... it's only a 20 min. drive up the I-77 to Charlotte and you'll find everything there. Any ???, email me at carlyshell@hotmail.com
Good Luck with your move!
Hi! I'm currently in Greenville, but I lived in Rock Hill for 4 years and worked in York while I was in college--Depending on how close you're comfortable being to a college with a fairly active Greek sector, there are LOTS of historic/older homes within 5 minutes of the Winthrop Campus. Check out Ebenezer Ave, Charlotte Ave, Milton Ave, things in that area (those streets all intersect, so pull up a map if you want other street names in the same section) Also, E. Black Street (Highway 5) runs most of the length of the city, and in the downtown part there are a lot of homes as well.
No matter where you are in RH, you're never more than 15 mins from the Galleria mall, Wal-Mart, Target, Best Buy, Books-A-Million, a movie theater, several good restaurants. If you visit, cruise Cherry Rd, Dave Lyle Blvd, and Celanese Blvd. They run parallel to each other and cover most of the city. Oh, and if you want a great burger or steak, stop at the White Horse Restaurant on Cherry Rd, right across from Winthrop. Killer steak. HTH.
(Can anyone tell I'd give my right eye to be back in RH?)
