Traveling to Charleston with dogs
Hi ladies, I'm sure ya'll must feel like tour guides, and I'm sorry but here's another. I've been to charleston before but DH hasn't, we're also looking to bring our two small JRTs. We're coming from Baton Rouge, so I'm not concerned about weather. We're looking at the first week in June. Is Charleston a dog friendly city?

Re: Traveling to Charleston with dogs
I know Bubba Gump (not my fav, actually I don't think I've eaten there, but if I had not my fav) Andolini's outdoor seating, Lost Dog Cafe, and Parson Jack's restaurants are dog friendly.
The beach has new rules that I'm not familiar with, but I think they aren't dog friendly anymore when it is beach season. Maybe on a leash after 6pm.
We have dog parks, a big one on James Island with water access. $5. Then a free one in West Ashley that is shady and nice.
I hope ya'll have a great time! GL
Charleston Place allows pets, too!
Lots of dog parks, high end groomers, etc. Just keep your pups leashed when outside of dog parks and you'll have a blast!
Yes! I beleive Red's on Shem creek has a dog night. I think it is thursday nights. I have never been but have been wanting to take our dog with us when we go. You should check that out.
enjoy your trip.
Some of the beaches have time restrictions about when you can take your dogs....usually something like they can only be on the beach before 10 and after 4, check on that before you come.
Also, you have to have a license to take your dog on the beach at Sullivans Island, and they do write tickets for over $100 for not having the license......so beware of that.
