Best Plantation in Charleston Area
Another vacation question. I asked a few weeks ago about places to eat. (We made reservations at Hanks). Now I want to know about the best plantation to visit. Whats your favorite or the best? We should be getting to the area around 2pm. Dinner is at 8:30pm. Then we have all day Saturday. Thanks ladies!
Re: Best Plantation in Charleston Area
depends on what your interests are and what side of town you are staying on. honestly I think they are a rip off. You are paying at least $20 pp to get in and walk around for a few hours. If I had to choose I would say Middleton Plantation on Hwy 61 because it has quite a bit of stuff plus the barnyard area with all the animals.
I would still say that it is 100% worth it to do a carriage tour downtown (Market Street) to really get a great sense of the city. I also recommend the ghost tours at night! They are actually really fun.

my top 3:
middleton, magnolia, boone hall. middleton has beautiful gardens this time of year with the camelia's in bloom. i haven't been to magnolia personally but i've heard great things like their swamp tour, etc. boone hall does not have the historical feel i was hoping for but the drive down the old oak trees is magnificent.
