Valentines Day dinner

Hi ladies,
I'm wondering if any of you have any relatively simple recipes that would make a great Valentines Day dinner. DH and I are going to be celebrating our first 2/14 as a married couple, and we decided we want to do something different, but he's pretty much leaving details up to me. I'd love to do something as a candlelight dinner at home, just need to figure out the dinner itself.
Any suggestions???
TIA.

Re: Valentines Day dinner

  • I did shrimp and grits one year and a chocolate souffle for dinner. That was fun!

  • Get on food networks website.  They have some great ideas.  I do agree with pp. Chocolate souffle is so good!  If you have the budget you could do a lobster gratin or even a beef wellington & shape a piece of puff pastry on the top in the shape of a heart.  Check out the aphrodisiacs section of Valentine's on Food Nework.  Bacon wrapped shirmp?  Roasted asparagus.  Mushroom & pea risotto?  Lobster ravioli?  Gosh, I am getting hungry.  Have fun!
  • i'm trying to figure out the same thing.  i was searching on both the foodnetwork.com and allrecipes.com and i came up with nothing.  the only thing that that sounded ok was pasta but i'm looking for something special but not too complicated though.
