When that cute young man at the grocery store calls you "ma'am," do not take it as an insult. He is not commenting on the fact that he thinks you look old enough to be his momma. He is actually just showing that his momma raised him right and knows how to show respect. That is right. Ma'am = respect. And don't we all like to be respected?

That is deep.... I know [;)]

  • LOL i about died the first time i was called ma'am when we moved to Charleston! And yes it was the cute young kid around the block and that is about 10 years younger than me. heeheeee. and yes his momma and daddy raised him right :)
  • I just watched Last Holiday with Queen Latifah...and she was griping about this ma'am bit. I always use that term, and usually women ask me to stop, but whatever!

I like to be respected and show respect too!
