Any Knoxville moms on? re: Playgrounds

We are visiting Knoxville next week and the last time I was there, DS and I went to Fountain City Park.  He was too young to do anything so I don't remember if they have toddler swings.  Now he is big enough to swing, slide, etc but I can't figure out if there are toddler swings there.

Also--recommend other parks/activities in the central/downtown Knoxville area to visit while DH is working from 10-2 that day.

The Children's Museum in Oak Ridge is too far and the Zoo is on the expensive side.  I was thinking about getting a trial coupon for The Little Gym since there is one like 4 miles from where DH is working that day.

  • I'm not a mom, but I my mom friends all recommend Fort Kid.  It's a great play structure right across the street from the Knoxville Museum of Art.  Across from the Knoxville Museum of Art at
    1050 World's Fair Park
    Knoxville, TN 37916

I haven't been yet, but we plan to visit the next time our friends with kids come to town.  HTH!
  • I believe that Fountain City Park does have toddler swings and big kid swings as well.  They have recently re done the playground area.  I second the reccommendation on Fort Kid, I have heard it is nice.  I don't have children so I could not say for sure.  I have a coupon to the zoo, a free childs admission with the paying adult, I would be more than happy to mail to you if you wish.  This week is spring break so they may have other activities as well, i could check out knoxville.org and see what they have on the calendar for this week.  good luck and hope you have a great visit.
