Hi....sorry I couldn't remember all the numbers to your nest name.  You responded to my question about needing advice finding affordable apts. in the Nashville area.  You mentioned Spring Hill...can you tell me what county that is in and about where it is from Nashville?

TIA

  • Sorry to jump in here. I am not sure if Jenny would recognize this post or not. Her name is JCM052707 ....the numbers are her wedding date, I live in Franklin....north of Spring Hill so I can tell you a little about it. Spring Hill is actually divided into 2 counties....Williamson & Maury. Williamson County is a very desirable place to live, but since it is, it is more expensive & you don't get a lot of house for your money...but the schools in Williamson I believe are the best in the state. (That's what I have heard.) Franklin is about 20-25 minutes to Nashville, so I would suspect that Spring Hill is close to 45. There are also some really nice neighborhoods being built in Thompson Station & College Grove.
  • Thanks Amy for the info....we're coming up to visit the Nashville area in mid Feb. so we'll be sure to drive through Spring Hill and Franklin
  • I saw it b/c I'm nosey and check everything out ;)

Like Amy said, SH is actually in the two counties.  We originally were house hunting in Williamson Co. only, but found that we could afford so much more (and brand new) if we just hopped over the co. line and still stayed in Spring Hill.  IF we stay here until our future kids start elem. school we'll probably do private school, but I am fairly certain we'll move to Williamson co. by then.  Even if we stay in SH (we love this city) or end up in Franklin or Brentwood (my fav places, but very expensive unless you want a shack!).  There are lots of apartments in the Cool Springs area.  Cool Springs is not really a city, but an area made up party of Brentwod and partly of Franklin.

It takes me about 35-45 minutes to get to downtown Nashville which I don't think is bad at all. It's funny, while we live a tad further south of Williamson Co. it actually is faster for us to get up to Franklin or Nashville than someone who lives in the Williamson Co. side of Spring Hill (or parts of Thompson's station) because we are veyr near a highway which just shoots us right up.  The others are fighting traffic and backroads which DH and I never have to do so it's really nice!
