Dh's job is relocating to Nashville....advice please
I need advice from locals who live in or around the Nashville area. We went up this weekend and met with a realtor who was not at all prepared. We're first moving into an apartment or townhouse that will accept pets over 50 lbs. and that is under $750 month. The realtor had one to show us with the pet policy being under 40 lbs., and 2 houses to show us and only one to go in to. Needless to say we didn't get much done. However he did drive us around and point out a few towns to stay away of....like Antioch, Lavergne and Nashville (unless we could afford the nicer areas/which we can't).
My Dh will be working around the airport in Nashville and he's looking for the comute to be under 1 hour. If you know of any cities, or towns, big or small that has extrememly low crime rate, family oriented, and well kept I would love to hear from you. Any advice about the area would be great.
TIA
Renee'

I'll see you tonight Tar. Oh yes, I will see you tonight.
Muhahaha!
i would look in Tar's hood...we moved into a similar community and it has been great from a relocation aspect in terms of meeting people etc.
maybe it is my yankee political and religious leanings and maybe it won't bother you, but Mt. Juliet put up a big creche on city property at Christmas and is currently being sued because a school didn't respect the separation of church and state. Otherwise Mt. Juliet would be a good location for you.
A lot of the people who work in my building live in the Mt. Juliet area and seem to really like it. I'm just a bit biased to Williamson county in the south due to their better school system.
Spring Hill is very small and safe! I'm sure you could find something to rent before you buy that you could have your dog at and afford!
Wanted to thank all of you for such great advice...We're coming down again in mid Feb. to find an affordable apt. that will allow a 50 lb. dog...and in the near future sell our home to buy a new home in the Nashville area.....
