I'll be in Iowa in August! Julie and I are going to visit family for 2.5 weeks, and her BFF is getting married. So while we are there we will be at the court house.
Hopefully, we'll get the legal one, on our anniversary. That would be nice!
PS If you do get a marriage liscense from Iowa, make sure you give yourself enough time, I believe they require a 3 day waiting period after you apply for the liscense. Don't quote me, but I'm pretty sure!
you are right on the 3 days thing...we might get the license in May when we are there and then get married in June. We also read on line - hope this is right - that we can have one sent from Polk County (so we don't have to make two trips) then we can use it in other counties and it does not expire. If that is the case it will save other couple friends of ours from making two trips.
Congrats in advance on going in August. Where in Iowa? Do you need a witness?
