Re my post below

It's an injectable for IVF cycle.  OOps so sorry I did not mean to offend anyone. My NP said I can resell this online or to someone else.  I see now that she was wrong in telling me this.  I truly did not know.  I will delete my other post.  Again, I am very sorry.

Re: Re my post below

  • Yes, it's definitely illegal to resell prescribed medications, regardless of what their use is for. My concern would be that someone would purchase it who hadn't consulted with their physician, because there are a lot of plans out there who don't cover anything related to fertifility (even MD office visits), so anyone TTC could take it into their own hands, and that's very dangerous. I would mention to the MD office that they have someone on staff suggesting to patients to resell unused medications- that's dangerous and irresponsible and really probably a violation of the ethical code that every licensed medical professional agrees to. If it were okay to resell it, you wouldn't need a prescription to get it

Congratulations on your pregnancy though :)

  • Ugh.  I hate it that expensive medicine has to be thrown out.  I've got a bunch of Bravelle in my fridge right now.

You used to be able to sell it back through your RE's office.  Until this Jan, I think.  I guess the gov't nixed that, but I'm not sure why.

  • I'm sure you were just misinformed about this, and unfortunately that information came from a trustworthy person.  As a licensed healthcare person, I am appalled that she would have even suggested that to you.  I believe something should absolutely be said to her boss.

  • I think I was the first to reply to your post since I sometimes check the Nest at ridiculous am hours... but unfortuantely, I didn't see any additional responses to that post (other than my own, obviously) since I didn't check again until after you took the post down.

Anyway... just wanted to say that I'm sorry if I sounded like I was flaming... I wasn't offended, just more concerned than anything.

And, because I didn't say this is in the original post I wanted to say

CONGRATS on your pregnancy!  Here's to a happy and healthy future.
  • No problem kellyjo.  Thanks!
