PCOS docs?

Anyone have a suggestion for a doctor that is knowledgable about PCOS here in Indy? Thanks for any suggestions!

Re: PCOS docs?

  • My doc was out of Arlington Heights, so that won't help... but I have PCOS, so if there is any thing you want to know from a person who's lived through it... I'm here.  I recommend looking for an actual R.E. (reproductive encronologist SP?) as opposed to an O.B.

  • I see Dr. Kenneth Moghadam at Community North (RE.) I also have PCOS. Love him.

Some other Indy girls I know see Dr. Cline and Dr. Gentry...one of them is associated with Dr. Moghadam, but I forget which one...I think it's Gentry. And I think Cline is at St. V's.

If you look on the nest local/Indy board, there was a post about REs...it was maybe a couple months ago, but it's a slow-moving board, so you can probably find it fairly easily.

  • Um, duh, this IS the nest local board...I was thinking I was on TTTC, lol.
  • I go to Dr. Brazus at Riverview in Noblesville and I have PCOS. She's a regular OBG but is very knowledgable about it. I think it all depends if you need a specialist if you are trying or not.

  • Thank you ladies very much for the suggestions so far.   I have not been diagosed yet but I do have a lot of the symptoms and would like to see somone about it.  My doctor right now hasn't been very proactive about some of my concerns and I'd like to meet with someone who is more familiar with PCOS.  Have any of you found it difficult to make an appointment without a referral?
  • My OB's office referred me and even set up the appointment, so I don't know.
  • YES! Amazing Reproductive Endocrinologist in Carmel:

    Dr. Leo Bonaventura
11725 Illinois Street Suite 345 Carmel, IN 46032
    Telephone: 317-814-4570
    Fax: 317-814-4571

Everyone in the office is nice (it's important to me for not only dr to be good but staff as well). NP and Nurse are really great!
