St. Luke's Hospital

Has anyone used St. Luke's Hospital?  Has anyone given birth there?  What was your experience like?

I'm not familiar with their reputation, it seems like it is a fairly new hospital.

TIA!

Re: St. Luke's Hospital

  • Yep, that's where I had DS.  I had a fine experience.  I like that you stayed in the same room the entire time and never had to move at all.  I don't think St Lukes is new, I know my niece was born there 10 years ago.

Honestly, I never left my room except for once to go look in the nursery at the other babies (DS was with me the whole time).  They were attentive and nice.  I had a pretty easy delivery and stay so I really didn't need any "extra" attention.

  • I am delivering there within the next couple weeks...hopefully sooner rather than later! :) I have heard nothing but good things about them...everyone that I know that has delivered there has had a great experience!! I did go in 4 weeks ago for preterm labor and was satisfied with my care.
  • St. Luke's has been in it's present location (Chesterfield) for about 30 years.  My Bro.'s kids were all born there (they are 8,11 & 13). I was born at the Old St. Lukes (was in the city) back in 1964 & my father was born there in 1935.
  • Ok, I think the newer location I was thinking of is the Winghaven Urgent Care.  Thanks for clearing that up for me.
  • I'm a L&D nurse there so I would definitely recommend it.  It by far has been the best experience I have had working as a L&D nurse.  that said though, if there were any problems or if I was considered High risk I would deliver at St. John's.
