that was a good use of a bazillion dollars.
(go dodgers!)
Re: anybody catch sabathia's outstanding first outing?!
YES!
Go Orioles!!!

Ha Ha! You can't buy a championship!
Go Angels!
(as evidenced by Arte Moreno ;-) )
Actually, I did a paper/study on this in grad school and it's true that you cannot actually buy a championship.
Katie Talks About...
LOL!!
I've got the Yankees finishing behind the Red Sox and the Rays already. Maybe I should put the O's in front of them also
Okay, I grew up in NY, but now DH and I live in Baltimore.
We were at Opening Day. I'll have to upload pictures to my blog here soon. The reception Tex got was much worse than what Sabathia received.
I didn't see it, but of course I heard about it. It made me smile.
I did like Sabbathia while he was here, but I'm okay letting him go.
Go Tribe!!

"Life isn't about waiting for the storm to pass. It's about learning to dance in the rain."
Ditto!
I was there
And yeah, Tex had it pretty rough, lol.
I'm a Yankee fan, but I totally appreciate the humor
** firm believer that free agency killed baseball **
My H is a red sux fan, does that make me acceptable?

Baseball has salary caps, but the Yankees blowing them off is just a cost of doing business for them. I didn't see their game the other day, but I heard it was beautiful. If nothing else it makes me feel a lot better about the fact that we (Red Sox) didn't wind up getting Sabathia or Textiera. Go Sox!

Almost no one considers the "luxury tax" in baseball to be anywhere near an effective salary cap. The surest way to tick off Selig is to mention the term salary cap.
Same here! Only, my H is a huge Brewers fan. But he went to college in Boston, so he'd much sooner root for the red sux than the Yankees. He was laughing on Monday night.
Seriously, they should've left Sabathia in Milwaukee - let the NL have him. The AL know his game too well!
Meh- CC will be fine- he's a slow starter every year.....
Wang is pitching tonight- I am VERY excited about that- missed him much of last year!
Never count the Yankees out- it is a looooong season and we have 161 games to go!
Yep- big old Yankees fan here... married to a Cubs fan- I figure that works since one is AL and the other is NL...
LOL!!!
I'm (obviously) a Brewers fan, too...and while I knew he'd never stay here in Milwaukee, I was mad he went to the Yankees. They are my second most hated team.
So I LOLed quite a bit when he got lit up. My husband, however, did not. He had CC as his starting pitcher on his fantasy baseball team. Whoops.
I totally agree with PP. It is a LONG season and CC is a slow starter- that has been his way since he started. As a huge Yankees fan, along with DH, we are going to give him at least a handful of starts before we start screaming at the TV. As a true basbeall lover, I'm so excited the season has begun!
i love how after one game the newspapers screamed "Money for Nothing!!!" He sucked for sure, but give the guy a flipping chance! you can say that around August if you want to.
What if your lifelong sexual performance was based upon the time you lost your virginity? LOL!
lol, I agree with this! I hate the yankees so I was happy on Monday haha, but even so, wait until he has more than one game under his belt as a Yankee to start calling for his head!
Well, that's the price you have to pay when you play in NY. The media is relentless there.?
As a Red Sox fan, I pretty much treat every single game of the season as if it were game 7 of the World Series. We're three games into the season and I'm already worried! LOL. What can you do.?
?
hah, that's great. Summer is very stressful for me! ?
