Things To Do....

Hi Ladies,
My co-worker and I are going to be in KC later this month for 24 hours for work. Can you give me a list of things you would do if you could only do one or two things? We are taking in a Royals game but have from 9am-6pm on a Saturday to do something. Thanks.

Re: Things To Do....

  • Where are you staying?

If you're interested in shopping I suggest the Country Club Plaza or Legends (both have restaurants and other things to do as well). The Plaza is more upscale where Legends is a very nice outlet mall. Westport also has some neat little specialty shops but it's mostly known for it's nightlife.

The P&L district downtown is brand new. It's more of a restaurant/bar area but it's right next to the Sprint Center and might be fun to walk around.

There are also some beautiful parks all over KC.

    HTH!

  • Heads up about Legends...it's all outdoors. But if the weather is nice it's pretty neat to shop there and they have some great restaurants.  If you're checking out a Royals game though Power and Light district is probably your best bet because it's closer than Legends. Crown Center is a pretty neat shopping experience as well and it's downtown.
  • I don't think there are a lot of shops left in Crown Center, but I definitely second the Country Club Plaza.  Also, if you like museums, we have the Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art.  Another shopping area near the airport is Zona Rosa, and it too is an outdoor shopping area.   Enjoy your stay in KC!

  • I definitely second the Nelson Atkins and then some Kansas City barbeque right down the street at Gates Barbeque

Definitely try to go to the Gates right off of the Plaza. The inside is modeled after the old 18th and Vine district. Gates, IMO, is the best BBQ in KC!?
