Anyone live in Waterford Lakes area?
We are thinking this is where we are going to rent a house for now. We found a place we like. Just want to know if anyone has any opinions about this area? Good or bad....?
Thanks!
Re: Anyone live in Waterford Lakes area?
I live in Avalon Park, which is about 5-6 miles from Waterford Lakes. We LOVE our neighborhood. I would say that depending on which part of Waterford you go, you will see varying types of people living there. Waterford Lakes is closer to UCF, so you might have some older homes with a lot of college age kids around. (like I'm so old I'm 30, but it feels like it)
If you want more info I'd be happy to talk/email/IM about this area. We find we don't really leave our neighborhood on the weekends because everything is here (including a new bakery), gym, grocery store, restaraunts, bars, parks, fast food, etc.
Let me know if I can help out more. :-)
One of my best friends and his parents both own homes in Waterford Lakes, so we're over there visiting a lot.
Traffic right around the big Town Center shopping center can be a little hectic, but on the plus side, there's a lot of shopping and dining there. As for the development itself, it's nice. My friend hasn't really had any problems since he's lived there.
HTH!
Thanks ladies! I think we are going to sign a lease there. And definitely, I will email you when I compile my list of questions.
We did a crime search for the area and called the local sherriffs office and there wasn't much other than car break ins, etc but that included the whole zip code. It seems nice over there. We really like the mature, older neighborhoods (although we've owned new construction). I fell in love with a house in Avalon Park right near the downtown area but DH thinks it's too far east and the yard was too small, so I lost out on that one.
Oh well, I told him if he wants to live in Waterford Lakes, well then, I'll just have to go shopping a lot.
Congrats! Welcome to Orlando! We will have to see if we can get some CFL Nesties together and do a get together when you get settled in We can meet somewhere in Waterford Lakes!?
I don't live far from there either, its great :-)
Welcome to East Orlando! :-)
