I almost got married in Hattiesburg (mom lives in Laurel). Decided on Jackson instead. There are a few nice places depending on what you want.  Southern Oaks is nice.  Canebridge (sp?) Golf Course, Cultural Center..I'll post more later when I get off work.

I'm from Columbus (got married there too!), but my husband went to Carey in Hattiesburg. I'll ask him about places. Definitely check out the MS board at the knot like Neachy said...those girls are awesome!

Hi! I just recently got married in Hattiesburg. I am from Hattiesburg and have lived here my whole life. I got married at a methodist church in town and had my reception at Canebrake country club. I did a lot of research before setting a reception venus. *Neachy* pointed out several good websites for venues. Southern Oaks is great! I work with them on a regular basis. Their florist is fabulous! If the flower that you want is out of season, she will find it for you! If you need any tips for rehearsal dinner spots or reception spots, let me know. Also, my cake lady was fabulous! Janice Mattern. She works from home, her cakes are to die for, and she is sooooo reasonably priced! I got a five tiered cake and a three tiered grooms cake for under $700 bucks! They were so delicious, we didn't have any leftovers! Also, I work at a place that sells wedding invitations and we just recently opened a bridal dress salon nextdoor! My photographer was Erin Hicks, photographybyerin.com. Erin is so much fun to work with and I am sooo pleased with my pictures. I am not on this board much, just stopping by for a second.
