Recommend some medicine

for my stuffy head...it's getting progressively worse as the morning goes on.  I have a lot of pressure around my sinuses and my ears are aching.  Anyone have a medicine they love or home remedy??

Re: Recommend some medicine

  • For that pressure and achy feeling I usually take Advil Cold & Sinus. And when I have a full blown cold I usually take Drixoral (it can make you sleepy though).

    Feel better soon!

  • Theraflu usually helps me.  Either the hot drink or just the cough syrup type meds.
  • walgreens version of day quil has helped me.

  • When I've got fluid in my head (usually lands in my sinuses and ears), I used to do DayQuil/NyQuil, but have had issues with weird dreams with NyQuil.

So I've switched to either Mucinex (which sometimes I get nightmares from as well), or most recently one of the Sudafed PEs:

This one for nighttime ROCKS - I get some sleep, it drains what it can (DEFINITELY UP YOUR LIQUIDS THE DAY BEFORE AND AFTER or taking a decongestant won't do you a damned bit of good.)

That alone kept me from winding up at the Dr's office, I swear.

  • Ditto Mucinex if you are all stuffed up.  It really works.  Swallow that pill quick, it tastes terrible.

  • Dh started taking mucinex the last time he was stuffed up and likes it also.
  • I love Mucinex.  This is going to sound gross, but it makes everything run out and within 24 hours I always feel better.
