Anyone have a good opthamologist recommendation?

DH has worn contacts for years.  He's getting so frustrated and really wants to have corrective surgery.  Not sure if he needs lasik or another type of correction, but he needs to start researching.  TIA.

Re: Anyone have a good opthamologist recommendation?

  • After wearing contacts since the 7th grade, I had lasik about 4 years ago at TLC w/Dr. Stephen Wexler. ?I've had amazing results and can't believe I waited so long to do it. It is, by far, one of the best things i've done for myself. ?I'd highly recommend them. They're very informative, professional and not afraid to say "No". If you're not a good fit, they won't do it. ?Plus, they have so many different technologies now, it's even more great then 4 years ago. ?There is a little class you must attend (i did it on my lunch break) and then you schedule your appt to begin your testing, etc. ?If you have insurance, they'll give you a discount, so definitely ask them about that. ?I know about 6 other people that have been to TLC and they all have the same results and feelings about them. ?We do have a friend that was left with dry eyes, but it's something she'll take in the trade off of great vision.

I hope he looks into it. ?It's really amazing! :-)?

  • He's wanted it for years, but was told that he needed to wait for his script to quit changing and it never has.  Every time he goes he needs stronger contacts.  We're not sure if there's any way around this now days, but he definitely wants to see if there is.

  • i actually had that same issue. ?i honestly think having contacts made my vision worse :-) ?it never seemed to stay the same, only get worse. ?i think i was just barely at a year of it staying the same and i thought "let's do it!" before it changed again. ?honestly, the worst part of the whole experience was having to wear my glasses for a week before the surgery and not being able to wear make up a couple days after the surgery! LOL. ?Not that he'll have the make up problem, i hope! ha.

  • Our family sees Dr. Robert Lewis at St. Anthony's and we have been very happy with him. He has a great bedside manner and is just a genuinely nice guy.
