Coming to VT to ski

I have business in VT in early Feb.  DH will be joining me for a weekend of skiing.  Stowe is closer than Killington and we plan to ski on Sat. and Sun.  I want to go to Stowe because it's closer, but is it good???  If so, can someone recommend a ski in/ski out hotel, resort, etc.?  TIA!

Re: Coming to VT to ski

  • Stowe is great. I don't know what you mean about Stowe being "closer" than Killington because they are pretty far apart. Stowe is northern and Killington is more south. I would book the Inn at the Mountain if you can. It has a lift right there in the parking lot. You can't get any better than that! Have a great time. Hopefully there will be lots of new snow for your vacation!

  • I agree with Liz...

I prefer Stowe over Ki,llington any day, actually. Stowe has some really adorable restaurants and shops. I rec. eating at "The Whip."
  • Oh... The Whip is at The Green Mountain Inn... here is the website. They have the most amazing baked brie!

If you want some casual but cute dining, try "The Rusty Nail." They usually have great bands there on weekends as well.
