Pregnant VT Nesties

I maybe will get two posts at the most on this one, but it is worth a shot. Who is your OB/GYN if you don't mind posting? I have GYN who is no longer an OB. I would like to start getting recs for OBs so that when the day comes I am ready.

Re: Pregnant VT Nesties

  • Hi there. When I got pregnant I called a friend (former parent in my classroom) who is an ob and she reccomended Maitri Healthcare for Women in Burlington. I have been very happy so far with all of the drs and the midwife there. I would be happy to have any of them deliver our son. I also have a friend that goes there and loves them too. Here is there website: http://www.maitriobgyn.com/
    Good luck! :)

  • Hi - I go to Champlain OBGYN in Essex.  Dr. Flaherty - LOVE HER.  So far I really like all of the doctors in their office.  I've also heard that Dr. Kimbery Blake at Affiliates in OBGYN in Burlington is good but have no direct experience with her.

  • I live in the NEK (which i hate, I cannot wait to move back to the Burlington area in a year and a half when DH finishes grad school). Anyway, any pregnant nesties from around her eor know of a good OB up here? I REFUSE to go to one at the hospital in St. Johnsbury when I'm pregnant, as they cannot give epidurals at that hospital.
  • Lindsay...

My family is all from the NEK and struggle with this question too. My sister has delivered three girls in Newport with both Dr. Peck and Dr. Stuart. I was at all 3 births and have to say that I love Dr. Stuart and would have gone to him if I was in that area. He is very calm and mello. Dr. Peck is great too, but if she (or I) had to choose we would say meet Dr. Stuart. (http://www.nchsi.org/findadoctor.asp) And I agree... stay away from St Jay. Even if you live closer to St Jay than Newport... make the drive or go to Littleton.

    Good luck!

  • Lindsay, Whatever you decide, don't go to Copley! They are terrible there.

  • Thanks guys!

Dr. Stuart is actually one of the doctors with my medical practice. However, every person I knwo that has used North Country Hospital (where both Dr. Stuart and Dr. Peck work out of) have had horrible, miserable experiences there, especially concerning the nursing staff. I'm kind of at a loss with it!

I greatly dislike Dr. Peck due to his treatment of many of my teenage clients. As for Doctor Stuart, he is very good friends with my abusive, alcoholic midwife mother in law. So, that presents a large problem for me, as we don't want her knowing ANYTHING.  I had been at her house enough in th past to have witnessed her and other OBs/midwives breaking patient confidentiality A LOT.

I wonder if Dartmouth is too far?
    oi vey!

  • I work for CVMC in Berlin and they just revamped their birthing center.  When my husband and I finally get pg (going on TTC #1 cycle#7) we will def. go to there because we have heard such wonderful things about their practice!
