Anyone from Elkins/Buckhannon

DH has a job interview there on Tuesday (Elkins) and we are going to see some houses there tomorrow.  I am a teacher and wondering what the job market there looks like.

Also can any of you recommend things to do, ideas about good neighborhoods, or anything about Elkins at all??

TIA

btw I'm living in Martinsburg now so I know to prepare myself to slow my life down!

Re: Anyone from Elkins/Buckhannon

  • I think that there are several ladies on the knot from that area.  No one really posts on this board.  My dad works in Elkins, but I have not spent a lot of time there.  I can ask him if he knows anything if you need me to.

  • It really takes a "hearty" sort to live in Elkins. The weather there is pretty drastic. Because of the elevation, snow storms can be downright hellatious.
  • Well, I was going to say that Elkins is pretty mild and boring, but I'm from Pocahontas County.  I guess I'm a little "extra hearty".  :)
