Refinishing furniture question

I'm refinishing 2 dressers we already have to put in the nursery - would you go with flat or gloss paint?  either way, it'll be white.

Re: Refinishing furniture question

  • How about semi-gloss ?? Wink  I tend to like gloss over flat but that's just a personal preference.

  • I think i'm going to do spray paint to speed up the job and when i checked home depot last week, my options were only flat or gloss :)

  • Then I vote gloss.

  • I don't know - I might decide based on other items in the room, like the crib and any other furniture.  But I lean towards flat.

  • I would probably go with gloss, thinking it'd be easier to clean. But I know they've made some washable flats recently, so maybe flat spray paint would work. Gloss will show flaws more, so if there are any dings, flat might be best.

And there you have my contradictory 4 cents.  Smile

  • I vote flat, it will look great with the crib.
  • gloss. it will be much, much easier to keep clean and maintain.
  • oh geez, you guys are no help at all Stick out tongue

just kidding! thanks for the input....i'm actually considering forgoing the spray paint and doing a semi gloss - but i'm going to take a gander at the finish on the crib first.
