Ok...so I had long hair for years, and finally decided to go with smth different--a more modern, fun, spunky, short look (almost shoulder?length). ?
I had a client who asked me to barter with her, since she was a stylist, and went for it. ?She did a great job--everyone loved my hair, and I got compliments for two months?strait. ?The problem was the experience...she did not have a salon, so we (my sister and I) went to her mother's house (didn't know this at the time), and were told we were at the wrong place by her grouchy step-dad! ?Then, when she got there, we were shown to a back room that smelled like pee, and had to endure an hour of two little dogs and her 2 year old getting into EVERYTHING and being screamed at by her. ?Yikes!
Anyway, so I tried Sergios on Vance Jackson and Wurzbach on Wednesday, after someone recommended the place, because my hair was starting to get a little long. ?AGG! ?I looked into the mirror when she was done, and I looked like some kind of 60's?cu-pie?doll! ? It's really bad, and I hate it...and to top it off, when I told the stylist that, she argued with me!
Sorry for the long story...anyone know of a GOOD stylist? ?Preferably on the North Central Side. ?I live in the 281 and Bitters area.?
Re: Grrr....need a good hair salon/stylist!
I go to Visible Changes in La Cantera. I use Riley for color and Jamie for cut.
I love them both!
My sister and I have been going to Ana Gonzalez for about 5 years now. She is in the Salons by JC on Huebner at Vance Jackson, 694-6086. It's far from where I live, but she is worth the drive! She did my hair for my wedding and I've never had a bad hair cut or color from her. She also does my eyebrow and lip waxing. Love her!
Roxi at K Charles (1604 & Stone Oak) for cut & color. I love love love her!!! No tipping allowed at K Charles (they make up for it in prices, lol)
(psst- thanks Erin for the rec!)?
Oh my gosh, that's hilarious! DH hasn't step foot in a salon in who knows how many years! He's cut his own forever. I can't even imagine him at a nice salon like K. Charles!!!
I know! ?I only let him do it since he goes a really long time between cuts (for a guy anyway). ?It is soooo odd because he is so anti-metrosexual it isn't even funny. ?He is the type to wear jean shorts and sandals year round if I let him, but he pays more to get his hair done than I do!
I think it is his way to get a scalp massage without saying he got a massage,?Oh and they give him coffee while he is waiting.?=P ??
Thanks for the rec.'s girls! I will probably have to let it grow out some (grrr) before I can get it fixed, but I'll definitely have to go check out K Charles soon..that is really close to me, and the prices seem similar to what I was paying for a crappy cut at Sergio's (plus tip).
I like that they have their prices and info online...I tried to check out Verci's pricing, but their dang flash site was just frustrating me, and nothing is listed...I'm just so busy that it is inconvenient to have to pick up the phone and bug someone with a bunch of details while trying to write everything down and keep track of it!
Thanks! ?
