My thoughts on the upcoming playoffs (hockey)

The East teams are going to beat the holy crap out of each other in the first round and really every round will be very very physical.

The West will be physical but not as much. I have faith that the top seats will dispatch of the lower seated teams.?

Overall it will be once again a good post season. Lets just not have a repeat flu epidemic like a few years ago. (Still amazed the Oilers pulled that off)?

Re: My thoughts on the upcoming playoffs (hockey)

  • I am so excited to watch the playoffs!  I wish my team (Predators) had made it in, but either way the playoffs will be super exciting. I only have one main prediction for the playoffs: Red Wings out in the first round. They just aren't playing well right now.  I think the Sharks will be the team from the West and I am not sure about the East.  I don't know enough about the East teams to really have any predictions.

  • I'm an Eastern Conference fan so I'm more familiar with the East teams, but there's not a single series I see there where one team is a sure bet to make it to the semis. I could see some major upsets happening, hopefully starting with the Rangers making the semis. :)
  • Hey Hey Hockey Town!!!

    Go Wings!!!!!!!!!!

  • Our team made it to the playoffs for the first time ever! I'm so excited to even care about the playoffs this year Smile

     GO BLUE JACKETS!!!

  • I feel so out of it this year when it comes to hockey.  I'm used to watching most of the Avs games (and cheering them on through the playoffs), but now that we've moved to the Seattle area, there are very few hockey games on TV.  (And most of those games are Canadian teams.)  Besides, since the Avs sucked this year, I also didn't pay nearly as much attention to the standings as usual.

I'll have to try to catch some of the playoff games!

Here in Nashville we have terrible tv coverage of the whole NHL and the Predators.  We finally broke down and bought the Center Ice package.  We now have more hockey games available then I could want.  It is great though to watch all the games.

I was pulling for the Preds - even though I didn't want to face them in the playoffs - they always are a tough match for the Wings.

I also am a bit bummed we're playing Columbus, we should be able to beat them but I really wanted Columbus to do well in the playoffs.  I'm excited they got in.

I don't think the Wings have been playing bad right now exactly.  We've had the same problem we've had all season - finishing games.  We always seem to let opponent's back in at the last minute (as evidenced in Thursday's game).  As long as we just keep up our play for the whole game, we should be able to pull out the series.  We really need to contain Nash and hope Mason doesn't stand on his head.

  • I am sooo excited for Sharks vs Ducks first round! I can see it going to 7 games though, and with the way the last game of the regular season ended it is going to make for a really physical series!
