Hi girls!

I'm getting married next summer in Indianapolis.

I was wondering if anyone had any specific vendor raves or rants? I want to make sure I don't waste time looking at people or places with less than desirable service.

 Thanks!

Re: Hi girls!

  • Hello Pinwheel and congrats on your engagement!  Well, I've been married for 5 years now... I know my reception location, hotel for OOT guests, and my dress tailor don't even exist anymore.   My photographer charges about 2-3 times as much (I got him right when he was just starting out!), and my ceremony location went from free to $500.  Basically, so much has changed in the past few years, I'm not sure I am much of a good resource anymore!  However, if you have specific questions, feel free to ask.
  • I'm in similar situation to Kelly. I was married almost five years ago and I planned a friend's wedding about three years ago and haven't really been in the vendor loop since (except for invitations and photography, which is a focus of mine for my business).

Photographer Raves: Barry at BPL and Erin at Erin Hession Photography are two off the top of my head.

Cakes - Sugar Mama's in Mooresville

Locations - way too many to list. It would depend on what you're looking for and where you want to have everything.

Share some more details and hopefully we can help out a bit :)

Move along, nothing to see here.....
  • Same boat as Kelly and Elisabeth...

I also suggestion Erin Hession Photography.

Otherwise, my vendors are specific to the area around where I got married (saint mary-of-the-woods college, my alma mater) and I also was very DIY.

What kinda of stuff are you looking into? We'd be happy to help!

  • Congratulations on your engagement! I've heard nothing but good things about Amanda Wilcher at J Andra Photography, and was actually pretty disappointed I found out about her after I'd already signed with someone else.

I got married in Chicago, so I won't be too much help. Make sure you check with the girls on the Indiana board on the knot. They may be a great resource for you!

  • Hi! I just got married last year (almost a year now). I had some pretty good vendors I think. What side of town are you looking for?

Flowers- Julie's flowers (her pictures don't do her justice) :http://www.juliesflowers.com/

     Photographers: http://www.albrightcreativeimagery.com/

Venue: Jonathan Byrd's franklin banquet hall super yummy!!

Dress: Jane's bridal (best prices in town)

That's all I can think of right off the top of my head but page me if you have any questions!
