I love coinstar!

I went to a coinstar machine this weekend to dump our jar of coins that we have been collecting for 5 years now (no need to pack them when we move I figured!).  Well I couldn't see letting a machine take 8 cents for every dollar I had so I decided to get a e-certificate which didn't "charge" me with my money.  I got an Amazon e-certificate (I buy Sean's diapers online there, free shipping and good price).  Well I had $53!!! HOW EXCITING!!  It was very cool to watch the whole thing happen too!

I don't like the "charge" thing either - but I didn't know you could get an E-Certificate!  Were there other ones besides Amazon?  How does that work - do they email it to you?

There were e-certificates and gift cards too.  The e-certificate printed a code on the bottom of my receipt.  I guess I just have to go on Amazon and enter that (like a gift card or coupon code).  They also had some for Starbucks (though I couldn't see $51 worth of coffee), Cabella's, Itunes, JCpenney's, there were so many.  I looked once on the coinstar website and it will tell you what machine locations offer what.

I get a rush from that too!  I am such a dork, when I'm checking out at Stop & Shop I make them put my S&S card in last so I can see the total go down from all the S&S card discounts, same kind of rush!

I hate the fact that they take money out of my change so i started bringing my change to Commerce Bank - you don't have to be a customer & they don't charge for the service.
