i'm getting laid off

i just read an email on my co workers email, cause she was waiting for a business email and was out so i usually check it and it says i am getting laid off. NO one has told me yet. I am shocked and dont really know what to do

Re: i'm getting laid off

  • Oh my gosh.  Any way it can be a cruel joke or that it is wrong?
  • What a crappy way to find out, I am sorry....that sucks!! Hopefully there are better opportunities in your future!
  • I'm so sorry!  What a crappy way to find out.  {{HUGS}} to you!  Out of curiosity why would your co-worker know that you were getting laid off?  That doesn't seem right.

  • OMG, that is awful. Since you are supposed to be checking the email for your co-worker, maybe you could mention something to your supervisor or to your co-worker when she comes back. It's wrong that you had to find out that way; I'm really sorry that this is happening to you.
  • Oh my goodness. What a horrible feeling. And there really isn't anything you can do, since it was your coworkers email.

Hugs. I'd start looking for a new job.

  • I'm with PP- any way that someone knew you would be checking your co-workers email and are playing a joke on you?

If not, that really stinks.  Did it say anything about when it would happen?

  • Oh my gosh! That's awful! and what a horrible way to find out! I'm so sorry...hoping you are able to find another job right away!
  • That sucks. Can you ask your co-worker about it?

  • OMG what an awful way to find out.  But at least you won't be blindsided when they tell you, and you can start looking for a new job now.  Best of luck!
  • Awful way to find out!  Maybe the person who wrote it doesn't know what they're talking about and is just speculating?  Either way, I'd be blasting my resume out if I were you. . .
  • How horrible! And to find out like that. I'm so sorry :(

  • Oh no!  That's an awful way to learn something like that...

I wish you all the best.... *hugs*

  • What a horrible way to find out horrible news.  I am so, so sorry.
  • no it is definitly true because we are a small office there are only 3 of us and i looked in my personelle file ( i know i am doing a lot of snooping today) and there was forms for unemployment benifits.

  • That's so not right!!!!  Since they know you were checking the email I would say something.
  • OMG, I am so sorry!
  • What a horrible way to find out.  Are you sure its not your co-workers idea of testing to see if you read emails that aren't pertinent to what you are suppose to be checking?
  • That's a horrible way to find something like that off.  Maybe approach management to see what's going on?
  • That is so odd.  Why would your co-worker get an email about it?  Is she your boss?  I'd definitely say something to someone.  I hope everything works out.  HUGS
  • what terrible news and what an awful way to find out. Good Luck.
