In education, you would think that the thing I would get tired of would be the students. Wrong. It's the parents. If you have a child, please assume that the teacher is making decisions in the best interest of the child and not because they dislike the child or are condescending to the child.
Long story short - I hate prom. If I have to sponsor it again next year, I am quitting.
Re: Sick of parents
Ugg, I so would not be able to keep my mouth shut if I were a teacher. ?I'd be telling off every student and parent who was being ridiculous. ?
?
So sorry it's not going well.?
Penny -
that's the problem! Prom is over and I'm still dealing with this sh!t!
Penny -
'tis just parents not taking responsiblity for their children. Not that that EVER happens.
I just get tired of parents tellling me how perfect their children are and then watching those children lie to my face.
And not getting administrative support. This is my fourth year and I never get used to making decisions and having them recinded by someone who is supposed to be my boss.
I'm just bitter today is all. Nothing a margarita or a martini flight from Houlihan's can't fix!
I'm confused, what is exactly the problem that's going on?
Tijuania
Nothing really wrong that a couple of glasses of wine tonight didn't fix. I'm just tired of parents blaming me for their kids' screwups. It all links to prom, which I had to sponsor this year.
Anyone know what a BA in English and a M.Ed can do other than teach? I'm starting to think of other options. Mel, did you ever decide on another line of work?
