DH's aunts are visiting the week before Mother's day and they said we can take the last 2 days of the week (Thursday & Friday) I figure, we might want to stay an extra day or so and leave Sunday..
Could you recommend some good hotels preferably on the water or with a waterview?
Re: Ocean City, MD
There was a Sheraton there but I know it not a Sheraton anymore.. La Fontaine Bleu... Also there are a lot more condos then hotels and the hotels tend to be smaller hotels... When I was a senior in high school, my bff and I snuck down to the beach for the night and stayed at the Admiral but it was really sketchy. Ohh just checked its a Clarion now... The Princess Royale looks nice. http://www.princessroyale.com/.
Also definitely get Dumser's ice cream and thrashers fries (topped with vinegar)
Mmmm yum. I grew up in Maine on the beach (Saco/BIddeford Line) and we grew up eating our boardwalk fries with vinegar!!! Definitely going there!!
Ohh keep the posts coming! I've never been so..
But looking at the calendar and rates of hotel due to tourests.. I think we'll end up going on Tuesday & Wednesday, then staying at the timeshare Thursday Friday. WOO!
Do you realize, the price dropped 100+ a night at the Princess Royale because I changed it to a Tues/Wed instead of a Fri/Sat..
We actually stay in Delaware since my parents have a place there and then usually spend one night around Ocean city, one night in Rehobeth (maybe two as it has great shops and outlets and is tax free). The beaches may be a bit cold even in may. For great steamed crabs head up to Bethany Beach and go to Mickey's Crab house. http://www.mickeysfamilycrabhouse.com/. Ocean City has great and very kitshy mini golf and also great caramel popcorn from Fischers. I swear our lives are planned around food.
Also Nick Idonis house of ribs which is in North Ocean City (bordering Fenwick) is also really good. As Nickabolis in Rehobeth is world famous. Seriously eating everything is centered around beach food.
I'm so excited now! DH hates fish, but everyone serves some sort of chicken or beef.!!
