And he's a local boy--one who recently donated a heckuva lot of money to my alma mater, which repaid him by naming our baseball field in his honor.
But charity aside, and even the STEROIDS aside...I don't have a lot of respect for a guy who galavants with strippers and call girls while on road trips. I don't doubt that a lot of athletes are unfaithful to their wives, but the way A-Rod just flouted it and didn't seem to care?
Bothered me. A lot.
Throw in the steroids, the fact he plays for the Yankees
and all that other jazz and I'm over him.

AJ is actually a friend of mine lol. I hear that all the time, but he's a great guy and a good friend.
Mine: Jason Varitek and Manny. Jason because he was a complete and utter ass to a friend of mine (in front of me), and Manny because, well, he's Manny.

Can I also put Curt Schilling on this list? I swear to goodness that was red Gatorade on his sock. That "blood" stain never got bigger which isn't natural!
I think it was ketchup, not Gatorade. LOL. I'm a diehard Red Sox fan, but Schilling was an asshat. He could never keep his mouth shut.
I agree with the pp who said she hated Scott Boras (Manny's agent and agent to just about every big-named player). He's evil.
And speaking of Manny, what's this about wanting to go back to play for Cleveland? I truly believe he's just a moron and Boras takes full advantage of him. In the beginning, the "Manny being Manny' thing was endearing, then it just got to be out of control. I'm glad that management let him go.
Thank goodness someone agrees with me. Anytime I've mentioned the non-blood stain to my Red Sox fan friends they act like I just said I think all children are spawns of Satan (which, I don't, I love kids).
mrsbobcat - I would hope that most Red Sox fans know deep down in their hearts that something was fishy with the whole sock drama. However, it did add a little something extra to their world series run that year. And in Boston, we love a good dramatic story!
