We are planning on moving to Clermont sometime in June. Currently we live in Altamonte, but I work in Winter Garden and my husband works in Clermont and our son goes to day care in Clermont too, so we are tired of the drive and have decided to move. I am beyond excited! Even though I work so close to Clermont I am not really familiar with the area. Wondered if anyone could give me any info about neighborhoods. We are planning on renting for now, but I have no idea where exactly we want to live. Anyone from that area that could give some thoughts as to good and bad areas?! Any help will be greatly appreciated!
Re: Moving to Clermont
Hi! DH and I live in the Verde Ridge development off of Old 50 in Clermont. We LOVE it here - the neighbors are great and we feel like we're away from the "hustle and bustle" of crazy life even if Target is only a 5 minute ride down the road. There's a big bike/walking path around the development, so that's a big plus if you're active. I know that there are houses in foreclosure here and there was a house for rent on Columbus Avenue, but I'm not sure if it's still available. There are 3 developers in here - Pulte, Hibiscus, and Adams Homes in case you decide you want to purchase.
Another plus...we're only about a 10 minute drive from the Clermont Farmer's Market (held downtown on Sundays) - that's always nice :-)
Good luck in your search! Let me know if there's anything I can help with!
I live in Greater Hills. ?It's right off of Highway 50. ?It's an older neighborhood and we really liked that idea. ?We knew exactly what we were getting into. ?Our house was built in 94 and we love it. ?It's a little small but we have already talked about trying to find a bigger house in the neighborhood when the time comes.
Our neighbors are great. ?We have block parties for New Year's Eve and the 4th of July which we are already starting to plan now.
There are a few houses for sale and a couple for rent. ?In fact, the house two doors down from us just went on the market for rent. ?They have had renters in there for a while but he just got transferred out of state so they are moving. ?Sorry to see them go but hoping we get good neighbors like them.
We are close enough to everything. ?Target is right up the road and Winter Garden Village is about 10 minutes down the turnpike.
Clermont is growing so quickly pretty soon it's going to be a big city.?
I live a little farther into Clermont..off of Lakeshore Drive..but the housing market is so stinko, you could find some great deals in the area. I love it out here..I have not done the Farmer's Market yet, and really want to. We also bought an older home (the price was right at the time) and are actually in the middle of remodeling bathrooms right now...Plus the new Winter Garden outdoor mall is just 10 mins down the road...and there is a new shopping center in Clermont just off Hwy 27 that has a Penny's TJ Max, Micheal's..a few resturants, a movie theatre and more shops.
Good Luck!
May I ask what Daycare you use in Clermont...we dont' have little ones yet, but are "planning" and I would love to have a daycare rec or two in the area.
THANKS!
I was born and raised in Clermont, I actually live in Davenport right now, but my mom still lives in Clermont, off of 561/Log House Road Area. Are you wanting to be "IN" Clermont, or are you wanting to be out in the country. There are lots of places for rent & sale, just depends on where you want to be.
Are you wanting a house, or an apartment? If you are looking for an apartment I wouldn't suggest Village at East Lake. My sisters and I rented there and it was horrible. I don't know if the management is the same or not but they were horrid. I couldn't wait to get out of that place!
Good Luck!
