Dear co-worker...(possibly flameworthy, but I don't think so)

Dear co-worker,

I know you are young and like to be fashionable. You are attractive and personable. You seem to be a bright and a hard worker. You have the potential to go far.

For those reasons and many, many others, please leave your black patent leather shoes with a 6" stiletto heel, 1" platform soles and three silver buckles in your closet at home where they belong. Really, no one but you and your boyfriend should ever see those shoes. People who see you wearing them will probably think you're working somewhere other than an office building and may not take you seriously. That would be a shame.

Your older and wiser office pal,
Nigoleta

Re: Dear co-worker...(possibly flameworthy, but I don't think so)

  • Look, I'll wear whatever shoes I want.  And when did you start working here?....
  • We had a coworker wear her white, leather, gold studded, 4.25 in heels to work with skinny jeans and a sweatshirt.  While they were a gift from her daughter (who got them at Victoria's Secret), they were inappropriate for most work places, especially a HIGH SCHOOL.
  • WOW.

At times I wonder if people not have mirrors at home and I haven't seen anything HALF that bad!!

You worded that very well, Nichole!  It's a shame you can't leave an anonymous note on her desk... either she would be mad / embarrassed or highly appreciative!

  • I think it's funny how those that dress like that at work, look at others like they have no fashion sense.
  • There was a woman who wore a red and black lace dress from Victoria's Secret to work the other day.  Everyone I know was talking about it.  It's not like I work for a small company either - I don't even know who this woman is (other than a trashy dresser).  Some people just don't think.
