Fun and Free activities

Does anyone know of any fun and free activities that we could do with our friends that have a baby? We are trying to come up with creative ideas for us adults to do that are baby friendly also. They don't have to be free they can be on the cheaper side.

The only thing is can come up with is going to the beach, but DH and Friend DH hate the beach b/c of the sand. So thats out.

TIA

  • What about a picnic at a park? If the baby cries s/he won't really bother anyone since it's not a restaurant, and you'll get to spend some quality time outdoors while the weather is still nice!

  • There's usually a community pool that has some slides and fun stuff for kids.  Its on the cheaper side.  You should check out Daily Candy for Kids in Miami.  They usually have things to do.  I'd also go for a stroll on Las Olas or Lincoln Rd.  This all depends how big the baby is.

  • The baby is only 7 mos.

    A picnic sounds nice.

  • Picnics are always fun!!! And the weather should be nice.
  •  I too was going to suggest taking a stroll down Lincoln Road.  You can end w/ lunch or dinner at one of their outdoor cafes.  How about community pool?  Baby can enjoy, and so can parents... esp w/ a margarita in hand.

We enjoy having pot lucks with friends.  Everyone bring something, even if bottle of wine.  Children don't bother, and maybe throw in board games, poker, or video gams.

How about bowling?  Not terrible expensive, and lots of fun.

Oh just thought about the Venetian Pool.  Is it open yet?  I know you're father north but its a great pool to go to.

  • I think getting together at someones house sounds like a great idea! The park idea is great too...

  • I'll have to look in Boca and see if they have any community pools.

    Bowling would be fun too.

Lincoln Road might be an idea.

We do potlucks a lot. Just the 4 of us so we are trying to come up with something new and different. Plus my house is all tore apart with our remodeling going on. I'm not to keen on having people over when it looks like that.

I"ll have to check. Great ideas

  • We have these small water parks down here that are usually baby friendly (depending on the age, of course... Don't know if they have anything like that up there... Rapid's is not as cheap... Something at home is always nice, or at a park too :)
