Anyone Notice Ottoman's Are Spendy?!

Geez!

I'm sifting through baby stuff --- E.M. and I decided we need (aka want) 5 new pieces of furniture:

1. a dresser for babys clothes, cloth diapers, and a changing pad on top.

2. A toy organizing bin (found one on lowes.com -- http://www.lowes.com/lowes/lkn?action=productDetail&productId=260282-63605-901&lpage=none) (There are canvas bins that fit in the cubes we will be buying, red to match our livingroom!)

3. A second organizer for the current "storage" closet that will be emptied for back up stuff for baby and bath stuff, clean blankets, etc. (found this one to match our bedroom on walmart.com http://www.walmart.com/catalog/product.do?product_id=10854719&selected_variation_0=10854719&qty_0=1&upc=0004660589061&registry_id=86171049161&shopFor=true)

4. A crib. We are planning on a white one since thats the color dresser we are getting and are planning to use all this stuff for baby 2 when we will have a nursery

5. and a comfy rocking chair with ottoman....

 

Okay so that isn't a whole lot.... why are ottoman/gliders (even bought as a set) more expensive than any other piece of furniture?! Yikes! >.<

Anyone want to recommend one to me? (Since I should be prepping dinner for E.M. but instead I am searching for a good chair and ottoman....) oi vey.

Sorry I'm not much help with the ottoman have you tried target dot com? I noticed a few ottoman/gliders on there but the least expensive is $159.99. By the way the second organizer is really cute, I may have to keep it in mind for our baby wishlist.

I did look briefly on target dot com... that's actually where we are purchasing the dresser from (http://www.target.com/Delaney-4-Drawer-Chest-White/dp/B0015T26RU/qid=1239194556/ref=br_1_14/181-7964285-1420064?ie=UTF8&node=12782781&frombrowse=1&index=tgt-mf-mv&rank=price&rh=&page=1) tomorrow. [Before it goes out of stock again...it's been out of stock for 3 weeks!]

I found this one on babies r us (https://www.toysrus.com/product/index.jsp?productId=2427806&fromRegistryNumber=98338570&product_skn=661381) It matches none of our furniture but hey, its a decent price and looks like it is a decent value....

I think I may watch craigslist and hit up some yard sales too. I really want it for nursing ...we plan to put the bassinet beside it between the the rocker and couch so both E.M. and I can be close to baby.

My friend got one from JCPenny's... and loves it. Its nice looking, comfortable, and was easy to assemble.

They are pricey.  That's why we got our glider off of craigslist for like $25.  There is also a baby secondhand shop in our town that had gliders (but not at the moment we wanted one).  If they are too much you may want to consider a used one.
