smoky mountain advice/suggestions
ive been there 2 x's now, in hotels. dh has been there 1 x with me. we are campers (& hikers) but havent camped in "bear country". we decided we are doing a 7 day trip, 5 of which will be (tent) camping in the park.
1. must do's for trails/sites?
2. recommend your pick for the best campground in the park please!
3. any tips for camping/hiking in bear land? (please ease my nerves!)
4. considering bringing the bikes to do the cades cove loop, please let me know if you've done it! is it difficult (ie: lots of steep hills,e tc?). dh mtn bikes, but i like to stick to flat land for the most part. want to know if i need to condition to handle it.
we are both very interested in pigeon forge and want to stick primarily to the smoky mtns/blue ridge mtns/cherokee nt'l forest areas...and we'll make a quick stop in asheville because we heart asheville.
