Oh, btw...Mary is taking a bottle.

I don't know that I mentioned this yet but my SIL and I worked on Mary all weekend and she is taking a bottle from her and I. So I am really hoping she takes it from H today. But just the fact that she would take it from me is huge. What I think did the trick is that I stopped giving her boob. She gets it at night and first thing in the morning. Every other time it's bottle. And I think she finally got the message. There was A LOT of crying on Saturday but she did give in. Yay.

Re: Oh, btw...Mary is taking a bottle.

  • I'm glad to hear it. Hopefully today will go well!
  • Glad to hear that! Has your H practiced with her at all this weekend? Hopefully she'll cooperate with him too!
  • I told him to do it yesterday and he didn't (big suprise) but we were at a friends house and that would have been a bad time for him to try anyway.
  • Well hopefully she'll cooperate today : )
  • Hopefully. She hasn't eaten yet but that could be because she's not desperate enough yet. I swear she just gets pissed because I am not there.
  • Woo hoo! Hopefully all goes well today.

I think it's just a comfort thing. C has never passed up a warm meal, bottle or not. But C will eat (bottle) right before we pick him up from daycare. As soon as we get home he's crying for the boobie. Chunkers.

  • Yay! I am glad it's going better.

My sister needs to wean my niece so she can get back on her rheumatoid arthritis meds.

  • Kristy, did you start training Mary on the bottle at all before you went back to work? My baby will be about 10 weeks old when I have to go back to work. I am wondering how soon I should start transitioning her to the bottle so she doesn't freak out.
  • Yay!  That is great news.  I hope she takes the bottle from your H.

We started her on it slowly 4 weeks before I went back. But it was 1 bottle a day almost everyday. I think you could do it in less time if you did it more often and was more consistant.

She took it from him today. Yay. He sad she's a pig. lol

  • Yay, she took it from your H!!! I am so happy for you guys!!
