Anyone or anyone's DH work in sports?
My husband is a college (SEC) softball coach. And I work in marketing/communications for Enrollment Services for the same university but a lot of my job targets our prospective student athletes.
Anyone else work in sports at all?

Does DH being a middle school lacrosse coach count? hehe
I interned with the Yankees when I was in college. It was fun.
Sadly, no.
I seriously dated a guy who did local sports talk radio in a 3-sport town, and it was da bomb.

I used to do marketing for the United States Hockey League. I loooved working in sports, but I had a new marketing opportunity that I couldn't refuse.
The goal is to get back to sports though.

Now, DH is the general manager of an IFL (Indoor Football League) team.
He started out as the mascot for a team in the Frontier League (an independent baseball league), then moved up to front office staff, but he kept being the mascot b/c he was really good at it.
I worked game day staff for a different team in the Frontier League for 7 years.
DH and I met through our connections to our baseball teams :-)
I work in sports
If you consider being a sportswriter "working in sports." Technically, I suppose it's working for a newspaper but still...
And no, it's not at all like you see in My Boys. Or what you saw in Everybody Loves Raymond
H used to work in sports--he worked in sales and marketing for three of our four professional teams here...he got out of it once he realized he would make absolutely no money for years. And he wasn't ready to put in 10 years to get to the point where he WOULD make some money...
Yes, I do. I work in athletic communications at a Big Ten university.
DH and all his friends think it's so cool that I work in sports and get to go to so many sporting events for free. What my DH is learning is that it's not really so glamorous. I mean, you get to go to a lot of events, but you're WORKING, which is definitely not the same as attending a sporting event as a fan. You have to be there hours early, and you leave the arena/field hours after the competition ends. And you can't cheer from press row! Even when I go to a sporting event as a fan now, I don't cheer, because I've been conditioned not to cheer after working on press row for 12 years. Yes, you get to work with coaches and athletes and meet famous people, but they're not always a treat to deal with. After awhile, you get tired of all the egos.
I hate to sound like I dislike my job, because I don't, it's just that the parts of my job that outsiders think is really cool are the parts that I don't like so much. There are other aspects of my job that I like so much more.
And the funny thing is - I'm the one who works in sports, but I'm not really a huge sports fan. There are a few sports I really enjoy, but DH is a way bigger sports fan than I am - he loves EVERY sport!
