Rugby?

Does anyone here watch or play rugby?  DH has played for about 13 years, so I've been watching since I met him (about 4 years ago).  I think it's an awesome sport to watch and be a part of.  I'd love for it to get bigger in the U.S.!!

Re: Rugby?

  • My ex-boyfriend from college played rugby.  I enjoyed going to the games.  They are some seriously hardcore athletes!

  • I've watched it. I've had friends who played and referee'd. I keep saying I'd love to play myself.

Maybe I should see if there's any rugby around here...

  • The only time that I've watched it was on my honeymoon, we were in Paris at the time of the Rugby World Cup.  I had never watched rugby before but I really really liked it.  If I ever see it on tv I would definitely watch it.

  • my sister played in college.  she broke her nose a few times and broke a few girls legs.  crazy!
  • My brother plays for the University of Delaware. After he graduates he's moving to the Baltimore area where he can join a local team and keep on my playing. Of course my parents aren't happy because he tore his ACL last summer playing rugby.
  • I played in college, and I have missed playing every single day since then!  I adore rugby, it was so much fun to play.  The sport is such a bond among players, and it has so many traditions that go with it.  It's great.  I had a few concussions and broke my nose a few times, a torn MCL, and a lot of cuts and bruises all the time, but nothing was too severe.  The worst injury my team ever had was a girl broke her sternum, but that was by far the worst.
