Need help with wireless internet

I have internet with my cable company.  It is set up as wireless from my computer to my sons.  My h set it up for me but didn't set up my daughters.  He said he didn't know I wanted hers set up (but he knew I did.)  Anyway, rather than ask him to come back to my apartment and set hers up is there anyone out there that can tell me how to do it or point me in the right direction.  Her computer is all set for wireless from when we were at the house.

I will be on google trying it figure it out also.

Do you just need to connect her computer to the internet using the wireless?  If so do you have a wireless router already set up?  You should be able to go to the control panel and then choose networks, and connect to a network.  It should pick up your wireless network and you can connect from there.

If you're on her computer can you see the wireless network if it's unsecure you should just be able to connect it.  If he secured it you will need the code or you will need to reset the router.

I connected to a wireless I think is mine and it says I am connected but when I try to go to the internet it says "internet explorer cannot display the webpage"

So frustrating!

Wireless internet can be frustrating!  In the bottom right corner of your screen do you see the little icon for your wireless network?  If you hover your mouse over it, you should be able to see how strong of a signal you have.  Maybe the signal is too weak to actually connect to IE??

I have her computer in my room very close to my computer.  Would I be able to just connect a cable from my computer to hers for the internet?  I still have box from the cable company and h added a wireless box that is sitting by it.

I'm not sure how to connect a computer to another computer.  The only other thing I can think of is firewall.  I had trouble connecting to a wireless network once and had to turn off my firewall.  It's hard not actually looking at it to know what's going on

I have a cable at work.  I will try that tomorrow and if that does not work I will call the cable company and see if they can help me.
