Today's Question 4/16

Let's talk about closet management!

Have you rated your winter clothes out of your closet yet?  When you switch seasons, what do you do with the out of season clothes?  Do you hang them in another closet?  Store them in tupperware? etc?

I'm working on clearing out my closet now and I'd love to hear how you all switch out your wardrobes!

  • I've been meaning to do this all week but haven't had a chance yet.  I can't wait to clear out all of my awful winter shirts.

    Come on spring!

  • I've got some large tupperware that I store out-of-season clothes in.  I haven't done it yet, though, because it's still been really cold here!

  • Oh I wish I had a closet! I have an armoir that I shove stuff into. It is very sad. We have an older house with not much closet space. One day I will have a nice, neat and organized master closet to put my stuff in. For now I just put the sweaters in the bottom drawer.
  • I actually don't really have different wardrobes.  I've lived in Iowa before moving here, so it never really feels cold.

I've lived here long enough though to know that the weather changes more often than my moods.  95% of my clothes can be worn any season, sometimes with minor alterations like adding a blazer or cardigan.  Even in the summer I like to have a cardigan handy since it is always freezing at work.

I fold my few season specific pieces and put them on the top shelf in my closet.  I probably only have 4 sweaters, 1 pair or shorts, and 3 pairs of capris.

I like to keep cute small shopping bags, and I use those to put accessories like scarves and gloves.

I bought some of the little snap together shelves that are wire to put in the bottom of my closet.  I put my shoes in there along with some folded up t-shirts.

  • I don't do anything with them.   My closet is so huge that everything stays the way it is.   Either hung up or folded on a shelf in the closet.   I puffy heart my huge closet.

  • I keep all my clothes in my closet always. I am a bit of an organization freak. My closet is organized by shirt length (strapless, thin straps, thick straps, short sleeve, quarter length, long sleeve, and sweaters). Also, I have all my work clothes seperated in the same order o nthe lower rack. Other than organziing my sleeve length, I have my shirts in order by color of the rainbow. So all of my same sleeved shirts are together and White, Brown, and Black are first then Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, Blue, Purple. Then on the other side of the closet I have my dresses and night gowns hung.

I know it sounds crazy but my whole closet is organzied and I know where it all is.
