Is this "too much"?
We currently have Zachary in an in home daycare on the days i work from home; When we chose her, she was watching one other child, a 6 month old girl. (as well as her 4 year old toddler, who is actually GONE majority of the day at MDO, but is there in the morning, and afternoon)
Anyway, she asked me this morning how I would feel about her adding another child- a 6 month old.
So, in your opinion, will she be stretched watching 3 children under 1, as well as her toddler before/after MDO? (We pick Z up by 4, so the time she's with her toddler is about 8-9am and then from 2-4pm.

When we were looking for an in-home provider for Hudson, the lady we were going to use watched 5 or 6 children total. However, she would only watch one newborn (which would have been Hudson) and then one of the others was less than 1 yr. old, but the other children were under 2. She would not keep any children past two years old either. She was licensed, had over 20 years of experience and was the president of the local daycare association for that area. I felt very comfortable that she would have provided proper care for Hudson had we gone that route and I was not even a bit reluctant or nervous about her being able to care for that many children. I don't know, I guess it just depends on whether or not it seems like she can handle it.
I would say no because even daycares only have 1 worker per 4 infants age birth-17months old per state regulation.
If you look here: http://www.dfps.state.tx.us/Documents/Child_Care/Child_Care_Standards_and_Regulations/Homes_747.pdf You will see that legally a person unregistered can have up to 3 unrelated children in their household, if registered it can be up to 12 related and unrelated but the guidelines fall according to age. If you go to the section on group ratios it shows a person watching 3 babies under 17 mths old could also watch 1 child 18 mths and older and 3 children over 5 after school hours.
So legally they could watch quite a few more if the were registered and if not then the could watch 3 plus their own child.
I worked in child care for a few years about 10 years ago and we always had 1 caregiver to 4 babies and it was never too much for the person to handle.

She "asked" so I'm sure I could express if I didn't like it.... but I know PERSONALLY I wouldn't want to have 3 babies in my care! The nice thing is her fireplace is padded, and she has gates to contain the crawlers... so if she was changing a diaper of one, and another started crawling away, they wouldn't go far
My mom worked at a daycare for years in the baby room and she always had 6 at a time (in La., go figure). I'm sure she was overwhelmed at times, but she managed it some kind of way.
I think your baby will be in good hands!
