Moms: Stroller Poll/opinions

I have a peg perego aria and I HATE IT. it does not navigate easily and there is no storage room underneath. And its just so darn cheapily made that things are forever breaking with it. the only good thing about it is that is lightweight.

I also had a Maclaren Volo umbrella stroller to which I returned bc I did not like the fact that it didn't recline.

So my question is this....
Reccomend your stroller and why....Not a full size one.
I'm leaning towards either a jogging stroller or good umbrella.

Rave about your stroller. You can rant too!
Give me all your opinions! I want to know everything!

TIA

Re: Moms: Stroller Poll/opinions

  • I've heard wonderful things about Maclaren.  I know that they have a model that reclines, maybe try that one out? Their website has a compare feature for all of their strollers.   I'm desperate to dump the full size stroller and get my trunk back but it's not going to happen anytime soon.
  • We just bought the Mac Quest, and one of the key features for me was that it was umbrella and reclined.  So far I'm loving it, but I will need to buy a jogger/all-terrain because it's bumpy outdoors.

I also looked at the bug bee, the Bumbleride Flyer and the Peg Pliko P3.  Overall, I wasn't that impressed with the bug.  The wheels were cool, but it was so much heavier in comparison to the Mac, and the whole set-up/breakdown was more complicated.  Plus, the seat looked really narrow, just wasn't for me.

The Bumbleride seemed really nice, but the '07s had wheel issues (think it was fixed for '08), and the size and weight turned me off of it as a full-time stroller.  I am, however, eyeing the Bumbleride Indie for jogging.

The Pliko seemed ideal -- so many features -- but I was really turned off by all the plastic.  Peg makes great strollers, but I found the P3 a little bulky and I couldn't shake the look of all that plastic.

sue_bride is an awesome source for stroller info.  Like her, I could talk about this all day!

  • We have the Chicco Capri.  While I haven't actually used it yet, it came very highly recommended from a bunch of my mom-friends.  Also, my mom has been using it when she takes care of DD on Mondays...she actually walks around the house (on the grass) with it, so I'm guessing it's pretty maneuverable.  My mom loves it, and she's over 60, so it must be pretty easy to use!  Ha ha. Wink
  • I have the Maclaren Techno XT and I love it.  It reclines, folds easily and has plenty of storage.  I highly recommend.  I also have a bugaboo that I literally never use.  It was the biggest waste of money.
  • I have the Maclaren Volo, but I LOVE it.  Sean was never a big sleeper in the stroller so I was ok that is didn't recline.  I would like a jogging stroller, but haven't even started looking at them yet.
  • I should add that I really liked the XT, but found the handlebars too high.  I'm 5'3" and while not exactly a giant, not a midget either.  I did, however, prefer the colors of the Quest.  Smile

  • I should add, I would love something that also can be forward OR rear facing....so if you know of something worthy that can do this...please share.
  • Bumbleride Flyer.  That was one of the reasons I was considering it, until I realized that DD has no desire to look at me anymore.  I think it would've been useful when she was younger, but now it's much more exciting for her to see the world.  HTH!

Really?  I'm 5'2" and I've never had this problem!

  • Ok, I haven't learned how to use the quote thing, but this is in response to Angela...

Yes, I thought the handlebars were so high!

Maybe I have freakishly short arms?
Maybe it's in comparison to the snap 'n' go I've used up until now, which has a lovely, low bar?
Whatever the reason, it was just not comfy for me.

  • Ha, well I won't be much help... I love my Aria :) I don't get to use it anymore since I started using my huge ass double stroller...
  • I love my Pliko P3 - it's very well made (not like the Aria) and considering that it's so lightweight - it's just the perfect stroller for me.  I wish they made it in a tandem double (no I don't want to spend $800 on the Peg Duette.)
  • Sorry, I can be of no assistance here.  We have Graco Travel system and the stroller sucks arse.  I have on my "To Do" list to get a new stroller.  I'm tempted to get a jogging one...you know...sort of wishful thinking that I'd use it.  :)

I'm keeping my eye on this post to see what people like.  (Well, if it doesn't get lost in the great black hole that posts seem to fall off into.)

  • I can talk strollers all day.   What price range are you looking for?   You can sell your stroller on ebay or craigslist and try to recoup some of your money.Paradise
  • LOVE my Britax Vigour Stroller!  Granted I haven't used the seat yet as we're still using the car seat, but it does all that you're looking for: reclines, forward and reverse seat options, storage underneath, aluminum frame, etc.  The only thing is that it IS a wee bit heavy at 29lbs, but hey...who can't use some more bicep curls!Wink
  • I just got the Wendy Bellisimo umbrella stroller.....I have been researching (or should I say over researching) umbrella strollers. After reading all of the reviews on the BRU website and trying it out in the store I loved it....plus I had a $20 off coupon so it was only $80.  It reclines, is super easy to maneuver and fold.  It is very comparable to the Maclaren and has a super cute pattern, I love it and so does Lucas!! He has already had a few naps in it!
