what's up?

my day is going sooooo slowly. i'm so ready to go home. what about you?

do you have any fun plans for the weekend? we're going to a friend's birthday party tonight, and c's sister is having a housewarming party tomorrow (for a house that they moved into months ago). i'm excited about neither. would it be bad of us to use c's pregnancy fatigue as an excuse to cut out of them early? that's all we have in the way of official plans, although we'll probably watch the hockey game tomorrow night at home before we head to her sister's.

Re: what's up?

  • blue - I say play up the pregnancy fatigue for all it's worth! Wink

Tonight we are relaxing at home, and then tomorrow some errands and housework in anticipation of my dear friend L visiting from Pittsburgh!  She gets in tomorrow night and is staying through Wednesday. She's never been to Boston, so we're going to do some sightseeing, and of course shopping and dining out.  I can't wait!  I just hope the weather holds up.... We're supposed to get a good amount of rain.

  • We are cooking a nice dinner together tonight then starting some painting  - including tring out a couple sample colors for what will eventually be the nursery.  Tomorrow we are going to the farmers' market with a friend of hers then I am going home to buzz around the house and clean and get a wood floor refinishing estimate while she and her friend have some yarn shopping and hanging out time.  Tomorrow night we dress up and go see Stomp.  Then Sunday we attack our basement which sorely needs organizing - and in the evening we niece sit for our favorite 3 year old while her moms go to an event.
  • I am counting the hours until my vacation starts.   In less then 5 hours if you care to count with me!  We have a busy weekend before we leave for Puerto Rico!!!  Tonight we need to gather stuff for our friend's yard sale which is happening a week from tomorrow but we want to get it up to NH so we don't have to be crazy the night we get back from vacation.  Tomorrow I have yoga and S is going to take the stuff up to NH and then we are going to go to my parents for dinner with my aunt and uncle (my sister and her boyfriend will be there but I am trying to forget that little fact)

Sunday will be packing and getting the pets ready for their vacation.

Monday it is off to PR.  We get back from vacation friday night!

Blue I say if you need to opt out and blame the baby go for it.  It is true that she is tired so it isn't a lie.

  • We have a relatively mellow weekend in store which will be a big help in getting the nursery set up and other chores completed.  Tonight we're going over our friends house for dinner....i'm so so so excited to see her b/c after a long struggle w/ IF she had her IVF ET last friday and i just want to give her a big hug. not sure if she'll have tested yet (is it too soon?) but either way, they've kept it a secret from most people and i know she's looking forward to being able to talk about it.  Saturday is another foster class and sunday we may be picking up some baby stuff from a friend who no longer needs it.

  • The weather is supposed to be gorgeous here - which is good since it has rained for a week and been in the 40s. Brrrr. You can't believe how happy I am for warm spring weather!!!

Tonight L has a meeting in Virginia, so I am going to meet her after her meeting and we're going to have dinner. We have the teen next door babysitting - she's babysat before but never had to do dinner/bed. She is a great kid (well, she is 15!) and her parents will be next door (heck, we share a wall with them!) I don't know why I am nervous!? And honestly, we won't be out that late so even if they don't go to sleep, it won't be the end of the world.

Tomorrow L will go do school work while I clean the house, clean out my car, and take the kids to their Gymboree class. After thier nap, a friend and her son are coming over and we're going to hang on the deck with cocktails, grill out, and let the kids play in the water table. I am excited for deck time - and drinks! I am thinking about making fun fruity cocktails! Suggestions?

Sunday L will go study more (hate the end of the semester) while I take the kids to breakfast and grocery shopping.  We'll play outside and putter around the house.  L will come home after the kids nap and I have no idea what we'll do - probably chill out - maybe go to dinner.

Last night I was craving Pei Wei and decided to take the kids before going to Open Gym. I was so impressed with the kids - they did so well sitting there devouring edamame, chicken lo mein, and rice. I was so proud!!  They really are growing up!!

  • I've been in meetings all morning and am now ready to go home.  Only 5 hrs 20 minutes left :-)

Saturday - take the dog to the groomers for his summer shave down.  Usually errands like bulk shopping, home depot, etc.

    Sunday - nada.

I'm never exciting huh?  Well there is a baby expo in town that I'd like to go to.  But I think that might be too much for K too early.  Maybe I'll find a friend to tag along.

  • Blue, good luck with the hockey game... I was rooting for you guys last night.

Trav and I will definitely be watching some hockey this weekend... our teams are playing right now, so we're acting rather competative.  Angel  Its fun, but I'm bummed that one of our teams will definitely be out in the first round. On the other hand, one of them will definitely be moving on!

Tomorrow I'll going to go walking with my friend Ro and her 2 month old at a state park near our houses. There is a 5-mile paved loop surrounded by woods and fields... its beautiful all the time, but especially this time of year!

That's about all we're doing though... otherwise, just taking it easy.

  • E.M has class tonight but doesn;t work so he is consequently snoring (ha I can hear him from the bedroom).

Im trying to take it easy but my body is being a brat.... Ive had cramps since last night and lots of peeing with minimal sleep. I don't have any idea whats going on but hoping its simply my body reacting to the cath used for the AI. :( Also been running a low grade fever and waking up in sweats for two mornings now... ick.

This weekend is Phx Pride but we arent going because I am not suppose to be on my feet for more than 10 minutes at a time so... that's out. Thankfully my  theatre director cancelled rehersal and I made it clear that next cycle I *will* be missing a weekend of rehersals.

Lets see, I dunno. E.M. works six days again this week however thankfully it is the LAST week of this crap.

OH! and he got hired with the apple store! :) If anyone knows about them they have super benefits even for "Same Sex" couples and children!! So we can stop paying for mine out of pocket! Also good hourly pay and quarterly/yearly incentives, % off merchandise, etc. He doesn't start till mid to late summer and we are waiting on the lady to call him back to tell him more details, discuss a set pay, and have a 2nd interview but it looks very promising. It's for a brand new store in the neighboring "town" :) And both the area and regional recruiters picked his name ....he had applied 3 years ago!!!

But that's honestly it.... Im probably going to grab some movies and sleep all day.... I'm ridiculously tired :(

  • hm, tonihgt just running and TV and takeout...tomorrow C is working, I'm coaching, and enjoying the weather...might go out to dinner...Sunday I have to finish my lit review draft and C is working on th eyard. nothing exciting.

  • Well I just got home from having lunch with J. We went to this little mexican restaurant near her job it was pretty good, after dropping her back off at work I went shopping for a swimsuit and bought a very cute juicy.couture swimdressBig Smile I can't wait to wear it. We don't really have plans set for this weekend we'll probably see a movie sometime this weekend. Tomorrow J has her Mandarin class so I'll probably sleep in. Sunday J has to meet with her study group so i'll either go to the library with her or stay home and study for my astronomy final. Oh we also need to catch up on some things around the house since Monday I'll be going back to work.

What interesting subjects to be studying! :-) What is your career goal? What made J want to take Mandarin of all languages?

  • Carol is working tonight so I am just hanging out with our dogs.

Tomorrow is our baby shower!!!! I am so excited to see a lot of friends that we haven't had a lot of time to catch up with lately. I am thinking of maybe taking Carol out for a special dinner if I am not too tired. I have been having really bad round ligament pain if I sit or stand for too long, so we will have to play it by ear.

Sunday will be spent working on getting the nursery ready to paint.

In a few weeks I'll have my AA in liberal arts, I plan to get my BA in psychology. My career goal is to work either in human resources or social services, I know they're two totally different fields but I have an interest in both so we'll see which will fit me best. J is taking the Mandarin class voluntarily she actually will not get credits for it but she works in and is majoring in finance related fields and she feels it will be useful in her career.

I have my BS in Psychology and think you'll find it useful in either career path. Perhaps you'll end up doing HR for a Social Service type agency.  I've always worked in non-profits and have had wonderful HR directors who really seem to get what the people in on the front lines are doing.

I'm really impressed that J is taking a language to help in the finance field! I can't imagine that is an easy language to learn - good luck to her!

  • We are picking up the older munchkin tomorrow for an overnight visit. We are working on getting that room room in order, just in case. I  am resisting the urge to buy our glider until I have placement paperwork in hand but I will go buy a few other things we may need.

I hope everyone has a great weekend!

"optimizing chances to have implantation" ...that was doctors words

Um E.M. is just a little obsessed that I'm super careful this time around.... last year when we TTC I was working full time (both times) and in school full time....and over all just a maniac. I was trying to be a house wife, a straight a student, a perfect employee and it was all just too much. So we took the last 6 months to reassess.... and now I am not working full time (Very part time actually) and all my classes are online. We are hoping that with me allowing my body to rest everything will be easier and hopefully we wont be dissapointed again. Doctor said only thing she could see aside from low hcg lvls with last pregnancys was a tendency to develop cysts on my left ovary but thats always been there and never presented a problem...my body deals with them and my cycles are regular.

We want to try one more time through AI before we move on to IUI or something of the like....

Gee I need to stop blabbing....see what happens when I am on hold with the doc's office? lol.

Aww that's fantastic.... I've been thinking about you guys! You must be thrilled! :) Enjoy the time with kiddo. Yes

  • Hey folks,

We're having a chill night at home tonight w/ some netflix. It's our first experiment with a freeze and bake dinner (manicotti). I've been inspired by all of the make-ahead meal discussions on here.

Tomorrow E is helping a friend move and we're heading off to our community garden plot to plant the first seeds of the season.  Sunday we'll probably go thrifting and putter around the house.
