Hotel help...

Hi Ladies,

I am coming to San Diego in October for a Patriots-Chargers game, and I am looking for a moderately priced hotel.  I have been to San Diego once and it was nice, but we were not near the Downtown area, and that is where we are looking to stay.

Can anyone suggest any hotels?  We think that staying near town will be better than staying closer to the Stadium.

TIA!!!

Re: Hotel help...

  • Try the Gaslamp Plaza Suites.  It is downtown near the trolley station and you can ride the trolley to the game.  I used to be a front office supervisor there and my family stays there when they come into town.  It doesnt have all the ammenities that the new fancy hotels have but it is usually cheaper than everything else and it is very clean and quaint.

  • Not sure how long it's been since you've been here but the Padres play downtown at Petco now, not Qualcomm (more inland) so if you stay downtown it will be close to the stadium.

Sorry... I've never stayed downtown anywhere so I don't have any suggestions. Now ask about food/etc. and I can help you :)

  • I read it as Padres... sorry... it's baseball season. I can't think past one sport at a time.
